WILLEMSTAD — Airline Company DAE announces in a press report it will start with two new routes early December from Curaçao to the Columbian destinations Bogotá and Barranquilla. DAE will also open an office in Bogotá.
Three times a week a MD83 will fly from Curaçao to Bogotá and a Fokker 100 will fly to Barranquilla. Cartagena will be added as destination with an ATR starting January 2013. Flights from Curaçao to Bucaramanga and Cali will be added later that year. DAE recently signed a code-sharing agreement with the Columbian airline company Easyfly. “Passengers from DAE can then fly to other Columbian destinations quicker and easier”, said DAE senior executive Nelson Ramiz. Easyfly flies from Bogotá and Bucaramanga to fifteen Columbian cities. “As from 2013, Columbians will choose for DAE when flying to the Caribbean area. The flights from and to Columbia connect directly to numerous other destinations in the Caribbean, Venezuela or flights to Miami, thanks to Curaçao’s hub function.” Salvador Parada, the current general manager of DAE in the Dominican Republic will become general manager for Columbia. He was also general manager of the Venezuelan Aeropostal in Columbia for years. Nelson Ramiz was CEO of Aeropostal in the past.
