WILLEMSTAD — The Dutch Caribbean Securities Exchange (DCSX) officially opened the doors of the new office yesterday afternoon. This office is located in the building of the Curaçao Financial Services Association (CIFA) on A.M. Chumaceiro Boulevard 3.
The recently sworn in interim-minister of Finance and Economic Development, José Jardim, was invited to cut the ribbon. Abdul Nasser el Hakim was present as a private person because the invitation was sent when he was an outgoing minister ‘and we didn’t think it was polite to withdraw the invitation’. “Under his ministerial office DCSX received a subsidy for marketing purposes”, said CEO of DCSX, Luis Santine, who also mentioned everything ‘had proceeded in a friendly way’. After DCSX was founded in 2009 and received the license in 2010 it has been busy positioning itself as a growing trade platform for investments in Latin America, Europe and the Far East. The servers of DCSX were first located in the E-commerce Park with their office at the Chamber of Commerce. “At that time there was no official office but most of us are now in the same building”, said Santine. A close collaboration exists with the CIFA.
