WILLEMSTAD — Fundashon Pro Pueblo, one of the institutions belonging to the Frente Sivíl movement, held an own survey regarding the elections for the Parliament on October 19th. Also this survey, like the one recently held by the UDC, indicates there will be small differences between the large parties. Also here, although a young party, Pais is one of the four largest parties.

The survey showed that MFK would win 5 seats, the PAR 4, PS 4, Pais 4, DP/Laboral 1, PNP 1, FOL 1 and MAN 1. Members of Pro Pueblo took to the streets on Saturday, September 29th to hand out a form with four questions. The respondents were to fill in their age, profession, educational level, their opinion on the status of Curaçao and which party they would vote for.

In total, 1500 forms were handed out at various locations (Brionplein, in Saliña and at several supermarkets) and 1375 forms were collected.

The results show that the parties in the MFK/PS/MAN coalition would come up with 10 seats, which wouldn’t be enough for a majority in the Parliament of Curaçao of 21 seats. This is due to the loss of seats of the MAN party, from 2 to 1. According to the survey, MFK and PS would maintain their level of the elections of August 27th 2010. A remarkable point is that the PAR would go from 8 to 4 seats. Pais, who hadn’t won any seats two year ago, would now get 4. PNP, FOL and the combination DP/Laboral would each have 1 seat.
