WILLEMSTAD/BREMEN — In the recently published English book ‘the vestige of a beginning, the prospect of an end’ from Domingo Evertsz, the Curaçao author presents his vision on the former and current geologic composition of the earth. This theory gives a different view on the origin of the earth/moon system, the timing in the disintegration of the super continent Pangea and the progression of continental displacement. Special attention is paid to the implications for life on earth, especially that for mankind. Where Evertzs’ critical remarks and provocative theories strongly deviate from the usual, they are substantiated with cosmologic, geologic, paleontology, biologic and anthropologic arguments, thus revealing unexpected and clarifying relations to the light. The first, more historic and philosophical part of the book deals with some consequences of prejudices in the general historiography on the scientific progress; in particular with regard to Africa.

WILLEMSTAD — In reply to questions from the standing committee for Kingdom Relations of the Lower Chamber, Minister Ronald Plasterk wrote a letter stating that to his knowledge the screening of candidate-ministers in the formation process is not delayed after the murder of PS-leader Helmin Wiels. The committee of the Chamber had requested Plasterk to elaborate on the social and political situation on Curaçao after the murder and subsequently on the current assistance from the Netherlands to Curaçao. He wrote: “Although the people on Curaçao were shocked by the murder of Mr. Wiels, this hadn’t led to irregularities yet on the island. On behalf of the Council of Minister of the Netherlands I attended the ceremonies preceding the funeral. After a solemn meeting of the Parliament of Curaçao, an impressive and massive farewell assembly took place in one of the stadiums in Willemstad, where I expressed my horror on the murder of a politician.” “During my stay on Curaçao last week I noticed that the drastic events haven’t led to a change in course of the now resigned cabinet. The assignment of the formateur appointed by the governor to form a new cabinet continues, based on program agreed by the coalition parties in December 2012. According to that program, the government of Curaçao will continue to observe the instruction based on the Statute Law Financial Supervision, and good corporate governance is still a priority. Part of the formation process is the screening of candidate-ministers and to my knowledge this hasn’t been delayed. The successor of Mr. Wiels, as party leader of Pueblo Soberano (PS), is an internal party-political affair. The process to appoint a new party leader hasn’t been complete yet. Mr. Ivar Asjes has been appointed interim chairman of the PS in the Parliament.”
