AFTER READING Mr. Dovale’s letter I wonder how many of the people driving daily on the Caracasbaaiweg agree with his opinion. Although I have no complains about the roundabout, the ‘highway’ is still a dream… All I see is a single lane road that is still bumper to bumper full during peak hours. To make the traffic problem worse, they narrowed the road by building a sidewalk and a boulevard in the middle of the road.

What is needed is a third lane, so it can be used as two lanes towards Punda in the morning and two lanes towards Jan Thiel in the afternoon. Actually this should start all the way from the roundabout of Salinja, where those very wide parking lots on the side are mostly used to drive over them to get to the traffic lights of Salinja.

What will happen when an ambulance or fire truck needs to make it’s way through the busy traffic? Cars have nowhere to go to get out of the way!

I, personally, keep wishing for a highway.
