MORE AND more we realize that all and everything turns around money. People now a days don’t care about their countries or their fellow man. It is all about their pockets and their ego’s. As long as our pockets are full and our ego’s are satisfied, who cares about anybody? The question has become, contrary to John F. Kennedy’s statement, what can my country do for me? The election results are a clear proof of this. Nobody cares about the economy. They don’t realize that the economy is all about confidence. Inferiority complex, racism, threats and plain hate are a part of our daily agenda. No respect anymore, especially for our elderly, our women, children and our handicapped. We can see this on a daily basis. People simply park their cars in handicapped spaces without thinking twice about it and if you have the audacity to question this act, you will be verbally or even physically assaulted. Women are considered a tool for our own satisfaction, the so-called machismo phenomenon. Our elderly and our kids are considered a nuisance. It is sad. What has become of this world? On the Internet and on TV we are told that the Maya calendar will end on December 21st of this year. We can only hope that this will not be the end but rather a new beginning. Norms and values must again become a way of living. The reset button needs to be pressed.
